The session begins at 8PM every Tuesday with an hour of jazz from a rotating house band led by Portland based band leader and trumpet player, Pablo Rivarola. The last two hours of the session will be a curated jazz jam featuring some of Portland’s best young jazz musicians. In 16 albums, Ibrahim Maalouf has gone from being the winner of the world's greatest international classical trumpet competitions to the most popular jazz artist on the French music scene. Filling the Volkswagen Arena in Istanbul, the Lincoln Jazz Center in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., in 2016 he became the first jazz musician in history to sell out France's largest concert hall, the Accor Arena in Paris Bercy.
Multi-instrumentalist, Hailey Niswanger, also known as MAE.SUN, has been deeply connected to music for nearly three decades. Her musical journey began on piano at age 5, then expanded to woodwinds at age 8. Saxophone soon became her biggest obsession, and she won the Mary Lou Williams Women in Jazz International saxophone competition before graduating high school.
The Mt. Hood Jazz Festival is a three-day immersion into jazz culture. It includes professional performances by world-renowned artists as well as a large competitive festival for high school and middle school jazz ensembles. The festival is held on the campus of Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon. Attendees can experience the music, vendors, food and culture of the area.

Ever relevant soul singer/songwriter Tahirah Memory is a Portland native. Born to a musician father, who would later win a Grammy, musical influence was present from inception. The 2015 release, of Tahirah’s debut “PRIDE”, created buzz amongst music lovers in Europe, topping the UK Soul Chart and garnering support elsewhere internationally.

Originally from Dexter, Oregon, Steeple Chase recording artist Joe Manis is a current faculty member at the University of Oregon and Lane Community College and is the Director of the Oregon Jazz Workshop. Recent Joe Manis Trio appearances include Fat Cat NYC, the Shedd Institute’s jazz series, Jimmy Mak's, Tula's, the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival, and the Montavilla Jazz Festival.
