Jazz Bassist, Composer, and Arranger Perry Thoorsell, an accomplished American musician holding the MM degree, has made a mark on the jazz scene. His performances and recordings alongside jazz luminaries showcase his virtuosity on the double bass and bass guitar. Perry has been a popular accompanist backing iconic headliners adding depth and groove to their performances. Beyond jazz, Perry’s versatility extends to musical theater, where he has graced numerous productions. His many festival appearances have captivated audiences worldwide. Perry’s passion for music has been built for over 50 years and continues to resonate with audiences across stages and genres. Vince Frates: Pianist Vince Frates is a pianist and composer based in Portland, Oregon. He started playing the keyboard at an early age. His natural feel for music and language eventually led him to study music at the University of Utah. He studied composition and theory under Henry Wolking and Alan Weight. Inspired by the soulful pianist Wayne Chritiansen, Vince decided to play professionally. Years of performing with different bands ensued. Vince plays authentically in many styles including rock, funk, soul, pop, country, jazz and fusion. Vince became an in-demand studio musician in the early 1990s. That work led him to compose commercial music. He went on to write for documentary films, film trailers, broadcast television and promotional music of all kinds Tim Gilson: Double Bassist Tim Gilson has been a mainstay in the Northwest for many years. He has played with many nationally acclaimed artists including Mose Allison, Ritchie Cole, Bud Shank, Herb Ellis, Julian Priester, John Handy, Ernestine Anderson and many others. He toured Japan in 1993 with the Mel Brown Quintet with special guest artist Chuck Findley on trumpet; then in 1994 he moved to Madison Wisconsin where he served as Principal Bassist with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and Assistant Principal for the Madison Symphony Orchestra.
