Jordan Louis Band plays the 1905

Jordan Louis is a songwriter and producer who paints on his own style of canvas. His music includes techniques and styles of songwriting that go back to Irving Berlin and Cole Porter. The pieces are narrative story telling songs with themes, rhyming schemes and emotional graphs that are centered in pop and rock and are fused with indie, country, improvisation and cinematic overtones. He’s creating a new blend of popular music, that takes the best elements of the old and explores new boundaries with themes that are daring, literary and apply to the human journey through our collective experience. Bio: Growing up amongst musicians, including his father David Goldblatt, Jordan has drawn influence from a myriad of genres & styles. He began on the drums, taking lessons from an early age in LA before moving to Portland and making a name for himself in the jazz scene as a teenager. After attending California Institute of the Arts under the tutelage of Joe LaBarbera, Jordan returned to Portland and has embarked on a new musical journey, honing his singing and songwriting skills under the mentorship of critically acclaimed pop icon Gino Vannelli. In his own words: "Life to me is a story; exciting, scary, intriguing, unexplainable, mysterious and beautiful. Everywhere I look, everything I see, is as a mystery novel, in which I seek to solve the hidden riddle. Through experiences I've had and the undiscovered avenues yet to be had, I’m drawn to share a piece of my journey. Music, to me, is a vessel for traveling through life; a way to explain life's flurry of flying jabs, sucker punches and unknown gifts. These are the stories of my ongoing journey."
