Clark College Jazz Band performs at the Gaiser Center in Vancouver
Clark College Jazz Band Spring Concert featuring Tim Jensen, saxophone soloist in Bernstein
The Clark College Jazz Band under the direction of Dr. Doug Harris presents their Spring Concert on Saturday, June 8, 2024, 7:30 pm in the Gaiser Student Center, Clark College Campus. Admission to the performance free and open to the public. Donations to the Clark College Music Department are welcome at the door."This has been an amazing year, and the final concert is going to be special. We will be playing several pieces from the Count Basie library, a piece commissioned by the NW Jazz Conspiracy (a big band in the northern art of the state), completing the Matt Catigub "Blues Trilogy," starting a Matt Harris series and giving tribute to the most important figure in jazz history, Louis Armstrong. The centerpiece of the concert is the one Jazz Band piece written by Leonard Bernstein, Prelude, Fugue and Riffs. It is exceptionally challenging for all involved, and we will be welcoming multi-instrumentalist Tim Jensen to the stage to play the clarinet feature on it. We hope you can join us."
