Banter Waves are at the Jazz Station in Eugene

Banter Waves is an instrumental power-trio inspired from the far reaches of jazz, hip-hop, funk, tango, honky tonk, electronica, swing, and of course, rock n roll.  Tim McLaughlin is equally versed on guitar and trumpet and can be seen touring and performing in groups ranging from salsa bands, to rock and jam and bluegrass groups, to jazz ensembles, and with singer/songwriters.  He combines this versatility with James West and Dorian Crow who have been holding down the rhythm section in many legendary PNW bands many years now, and as a trio, together they get to explore another side of their musical world…. a greasy, spooky and funky world.  The Eugene-based group will be featuring their original material as well as a wide collection of sketches of standards and contemporary tunes that range from the Beatles to The Buena Vista Social Club to Nirvana, and a lot in-between.  Banter Waves is the definition of creativity, spontaneity, and originality.
