Amy Jones is no ordinary, sweet-voiced chanteuse. The easy going, ever-smiling Jones is a remarkably versatile vocalist extraordinaire, whose lyrical interpretations of the music she cares deeply about reveals a sensitive artist and an accomplished musician in full command of her artform. Yet beyond the musical mechanics there is an exquisiteness of tone, a certain special quality of her voice that invariably captivates then mesmerizes the listener.
After arriving in Eugene, Amy was on a mission to assemble the most talented local players she could find to form her ideal musical ensemble, a band capable of exploring the diversity of her unique reportoire, a broad musical catalog of gems in the genre of Soul, Blues, Folk and Jazz.
While honoring the sound of the artists on the original recordings, Amy's personal style lends fresh new flavor to tasty fare such as Aretha Franklin's, "Dr. Feelgood," Nancy Wilson's, "Never Let Me Go," Betty Carter's, "Open the Door," and Prince's, "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore."
At the core of Amy's repertoire are more than a dozen of the singer's original compositions, most of which can be heard on her 2021 album, "Empty Glasses."
Amy's shows are delivered impeccably by a clique of musicians sensitive, savvy, and superb, a band whose every note provides not just musical support as they lyrically meld with Jones, but they display an impressive devotion to their own craft as well.
