Hungarian-born singer, composer, and music educator Zsofia Tardy chose Portland as her new home in 2015. Since her arrival, she has taught at Western Oregon University; and on behalf of WOU two times in Nanning, China. Currently, she is the Instructor of Jazz Voice at Lewis & Clark College. Audiences and fellow musicians alike call her a “force of nature,” especially praising her scatting, resembling it to the greatest singers. With this tribute concert, she expresses her admiration for her favorite hard-bop composer, Horace Silver, whose dynamic compositions resonate with her energetic singing style.
Attila Csikos is a Portlandian versatile guitar virtuoso, composer, and educator. He studied jazz at The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Hungary and the Western Oregon University; played in several festivals and clubs in Europe and the US. he is the Instructor of Rock Guitar at Clackamas Community College.
