An Afternoon In Sellwood is the first release by PNW based drummer, educator
Todd Zimberg. After a long career as a sideman and band member a self-produced project seemed the next step. The drive from Vashon Island to Portland was easy and reconnecting with longtime friend and musical colleague Michael Gotz the logical choice. The two have played together since the early 80’s. Associated acts: Maggie Laird, Island Jazz Quintet, Chris Stevens, Publish the Quest, Co-Director Federal Way Symphony Big Band.

Michael Gotz is a pianist/guitarist who currently lives in Portland, OR. He has been playing professionally for almost 50 years. Michael has vast experience in jazz, reggae and pop.

Also from Portland, bassist Perry Thoorsell is a mainstay on the jazz scene. His solo album Jazz 2020, features Perry’s composing and arranging skills. He has performed and recorded with: Smith Dobson, Jessica Williams, Larry Vuckovich, Eddie Henderson, just to name a few.
