Richard Bonnet was born in 1973; He‘s a guitar player, a composer, an improviser and a teacher based in Chartreuse. He works with musicians like Hasse Poulsen, Stéphane Payen, Antonin Tri Hoang, Dominique Pifarély, Régis Huby, Guillaume Roy, Edward Perraud, and has created several projects (as a composer) such as a Quartet with Tony Malaby (sax), Tom Rainey (batt) and Antonin Rayon (Hammond organ) (Warrior – Marge 50), a Duo with Tony Malaby (Haptein – hôte Marge 04). He just came back from a tour around Europe where he performed with Tony Malaby (sax) and Sylvain Darrifourcq (drummer), and they also invited Louis Sclavis (clarinettist) to join them on several occasions. He performed as a duo with Danish guitar player Hasse Poulsen (Colors in water and steel – Hôte marge 10), at a cine-concert with guitar player Pierre Durand, in a solo project (Morning Bear). He records frequently in New York with pianist James Carney (as a trio with Gerald Cleaver and also Samuel Ber). As he holds a state diploma in Jazz, he shares his time between his musical projects and teaching guitar.
Sylvain Darrifourcq (born in 1979) studied classical percussion. He chose the drums late in his career and discovered rock, jazz and improvised music. A well-known figure from a generation of improvisers intrigued by boundaries, he is a musician in high demand. He has collaborated with several French, European and American personalities such as: Joëlle Léandre, Tony Malaby, Michel Portal, Louis Sclavis, Marc Ducret, Andrea Parkins, Aksoh S, Kit Downes, etc. In 2009, he won a “Victoire du Jazz” with Emile Parisien Quartet. He was the quartet’s drummer for more than 10 years.
His human and musical encounters developed his taste for contemporary forms of creation and led him to create his own festival with the singer and bass player Elise Dabrowski: the DA festival. Fascinated by temporality, space and breaking points in music, he has been creating a very personal language built around the concepts of “multi-speed” and “physiquality”. His research has brought him to collaborate with choreographers, dancers, video-makers and scenographers. In addition to his personal projects, MILESDAVISQUINTET!, IN LOVE WITH and TENDIMITE, he works closely with the composer Guillaume Hermen (LE PANTIN, DANS L’ENTRE with the philharmonic orchestra of Radio France conducted by Pierre André Valade).
Tony Malaby (born 1964 in Tucson, Arizona) is a jazz tenor saxophonist. Malaby moved to New York City in 1995 and played with several notable jazz groups, including Charlie Haden’s Liberation Music Orchestra, Paul Motian's Electric Bebop Band, Mark Helias's Open Loose, Fred Hersch's Trio + 2 and Walt Whitman project. He also played with bands led by Mario Pavone, Chris Lightcap, Bobby Previte, Tom Varner, Marty Ehrlich, Angelica Sanchez, Mark Dresser, and Kenny Wheeler. Other collaborators included Tom Rainey, Christian Lillinger, Ben Monder, Eivind Opsvik, Nasheet Waits, Samo Salamon and Michael Formanek. His first album as a co-leader was Cosas with Joey Sellers.
The New York Times has called him one "of the best players of their generation."
