Drummer/bandleader Michael Raynor splits his time between Portland and Chicago, where he spent twenty-two years playing with tenor sax icon and NEA Jazz Master, Von Freeman. Raynor also toured extensively with vocalist Kurt Elling and can be heard on three of his Grammy nominated recordings. He has worked with Freddie Hubbard, Arturo Sandoval, Eric Alexander, Johnny Griffin, Ira Sullivan, Jon Faddis, Bobby Broom, Fareed Haque, Tia Fuller, and Steve Coleman, among others. In addition to playing festivals throughout Europe and North America, Raynor has co-led tours in both Asia and Africa as a United States Jazz Ambassador.
