The Experience Music Series, presented by the Portland Community College Department of Music, will continue its series of virtual live performances with the dynamic world music fusion group Seffarine on December 1 at 7:30 p.m. The concert may be accessed by going to expmusicseries.com/youtube and will also feature the popular question and answer session with the artist after the performance.

The Experience Music Series is sponsored by grants from the Reser Family Foundation, the City of Beaverton Arts Program, the Cultural Coalition of Washington County and the Oregon Cultural Trust.

There is no charge to view the concert, but donations to the series are gratefully accepted.

Seffarine is a duo with soulful Moroccan singer Lamiae Naki and oud player and flamenco guitarist Nat Hulskamp, supported by master musicians of diverse cultures. The group's sound embraces and extends the rich legacy of Spanish flamenco, classical Persian music and American Jazz. Their exciting performances masterfully combine explosive flamenco footwork, exotic instrumentation and grooving basslines. These diverse backgrounds meld, creating what SoundRoots describes as "an ear-caressing blend of sounds from Spain and North Africa, spiced with a bit of fiery instrumentation and percussion."

Their CD, “De Fez a Jerez,” is listed in the top 20 best world music releases by the Transglobal World Music Charts, a panel of 43 world music experts. For more information, please visit the band’s website at http://www.seffarine.com/.
