Jazz Rent Party

A Benefit Concert for The Jazz Station featuring The Nancy Hamilton Sextet

Nancy Hamilton’s warm, soulful vocals will be backed by John Crider’s nuanced piano stylings and Chris Orsinger's passionate, harmonic acoustic bass. Brian Toon’s gleaming guitar work, John Polese’s silky trumpet and flugelhorn, and Austin Haas’ rhythmic grooves on drums combine to create an intoxicating sonic palette.

Enjoy classic swing, hypnotic Latin Jazz, rollicking blues and poignant ballads drawn from Ellington, Ella, Horace Silver, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis and more. Anticipate tales from the early days, when The Jazz Station was a cultural beacon amidst downtown’s empty storefronts.

The Jazz Station co-founders John Crider, Nancy Hamilton, and Chris Orsinger launched The Jazz Station in 2005. They rented and renovated the original 20-seat space (now Cowfish’s pool annex), procured an old piano, and started hosting jazz concerts. A host of jazz musicians and fans chipped in to pay the monthly rent, while volunteers managed the micro-cultural center.  An immediate grass-roots community success, The Jazz Station moved to its present expanded venue in 2011.

Why The Jazz Station Needs Your Support

The non-profit Jazz Station’s lease expires November 2019. To prepare for higher costs sure to come, we’ve raised $17,000 toward our goal of $30,000 by year-end. It’s time to “band” together to meet our goal and sustain this wonderful, all-ages community music venue that annually presents over 150 intimate concerts and scores of jam sessions that nurture our local talent of all ages.

Party with us and consider a generous special gift to our Fund for the Future!
