True North is a unique fun loving jazz sextet based in Portland. Featured vocalist Dan Murphy brings it with his very own take on favorite jazz and swing standards.  Plus, members Kathy James, Steve Morgan and Brad McMillan take pride in writing all-original compositions that widely appeal.  Add the creative energy and talent brought by Eric Austin on sax, and Steve Turmell on drums, this is a group you won't want to miss.  They originally formed as the Kathy James Quintet in 2010 and concentrated on developing her strong original compositions.
