Join us for an evening of new music orchestrated for a unique array of instruments. There will be arrangements of jazz standards, popular songs, as well as originals from bassist/composer Robert Lassila and other members of the band. Robert Lassila is a bassist and composer living in Eugene, Oregon. Being a versatile sideman, he finds himself performing many different genres on both electric and acoustic bass. For his personal projects, the main focus is composing and performing original jazz music for both small and large ensembles. He recently graduated from the University of Oregon with a Master’s degree in jazz studies where he studied composition and arranging with Steve Owen and Paul Krueger, and jazz improvisation with Tyler Abbott, Idit Shner, and Keith Brown.
