Two Shows - 7:30p and 9:30p
- Keyon Harrold, Trumpet
- George Colligan, Keys
- Vicente Archer, Bass
- Jonathan Pinson, Drums
This is the first installment of Pinson's Perspective, a new monthly series, hosted by Jonathan Pinson. The goal is to bring the world's finest musicians to Portland and empower the community.
Opening Show - Ryan Meagher "Cowboy Jazz" - 5:30p
- Bryan Smith, Alto Saxophone
- Ryan Meagher, Guitar
- Shao Way Wu, Bass
- Jonas Oglesbee, Drums
Originally composed modern jazz with Americana flair. Travis picking, singable melodies, slide guitar, triads... but also complex harmony, high-flying solos, and modern jazz sensibilities. Think Merle Haggard meets Pat Metheny.
Late Show - Machado Mijiga's BOGO - 11:30p
- Rob "Arousal" Araujo, Keys
- Ian "Yuck" Lindsay, Bass
- Machado Mijiga, Drums
Multi-instrumentalist Machado Mijiga presents BOGO, an exciting new three-piece groove outfit. These two bearded beasts have an uncanny resemblance, hence the name "Buy One, Get One." BOGO sits in the pocket, stretches like elastic, but smooth as silk— think backbeat, with a beard."
