Paula Byrne Trio plays at Mood Indigo - Bend

Sold Out

We are excited to have vocalist Paula Byrne return to our bandstand!

Paula Byrne's voice is like chilled champagne on a hot summer day. She moves easily between songs that are lush and beautiful to highly rhythmic, wild rides. Her sense of humor, revival of obscure songs and new twists on old standards keeps the audience engaged and enraptured.

Paula is eclectic in her choice of musicians with whom to perform, including many of Portland's best: Randy Porter, Gordon Lee, George Mitchell, Craig Bidondo, Joe Millward, Ron Steen, Dennis Caiazza, Rich Turnoy, Glenn Holstrom, Andrea Niemiec, Kevin Dietz, Christopher Woitach and Darin Clendenin, Matt Tabor, Craig Snazelle, Dave Captein, Vince Frates, Dan Gaynor, John Gilmore, Mike Horsfall, Greg Goebel, Dan Presley, Carlton Jackson, Gordon Lee, Todd Marston.  Born to a jazz drummer (father) and figure skater (mother), she has been a lover of music and movement since birth. Paula teaches dance locally and internationally, and has been a moving force in the dance scene in Portland since 1996.

Brandon Nelson began his piano studies at the age of 12 in Mount Vernon, WA. He graduated from Washington State University in 2016 with a degree in Piano Performance with a Jazz Emphasis. Mood Indigo is located in the Just Joe's Music showroom, (2nd floor, no elevator) We convert the store to a club atmosphere, regularly engage top local and regional jazz artists and provide a private space to enjoy live music and the musicians. A more personal space would be hard to find.

Lisa Dae will be your host.  "Our goal is  to create a cozy and relaxed atmosphere where conversation among friends is encouraged and intimate music listening is also possible.   Smaller, quaint venues can offer both these  advantages - we're all about that."

Just Joe's has a long history of presenting jazz in our community. The popular Jazz at Joe's series with 75 concerts to date has set a high bar - Mood Indigo is dedicated to that same tall order.
