Hailing from Central PA, LeAnna Simmons developed her love for vocal jazz while studying nursing at Temple University in Philadelphia. Between rigorous nursing courses, took vocal lessons with Philly vocalist Joanna Pascale, performed in her vocal ensemble, and gigged around the city. Though travel nursing is what brought her to this city in January, she has continued to perform jazz during her travels in LA, Seattle, and now Portland. Her contralto tone is inspired by the voices of Betty Carter, Julie London, and Sarah Vaughan.
