Julana Torres, known as“La Colorá''is a multifaceted artist gracing Portland and national stages for over 25 years. Born to legendary percussionist Bobby Torres and Broadway sensation Julane Stites, Julana’s world has been dominated by music, theatre and dance. She returned to the stage recently after a career of teaching with Portland Public Schools where she founded the full time dance program for Franklin High School. She has since co-starred in Netflix's Trinkets, featured film Losing Addison, and has been nominated by the Portland Drammy Awards twice as best actress for her theatre career. As a classically trained dancer, singer and actor, Julana’s versatility as a performer, paired with her Puerto Rican roots, engages audiences in an unforgettable rhythmic experience. Her new group“La Colorá” is an explosion of classic Salsa, Latin Jazz, and Pop/Salsa fusion. La Colorá highlights the legacyof her percussionist family as she is joined on stage by her father Bobby Torres and brother Carmelo Torres
