James Blackburn plays Ilani at Michael Jordon's Steak House

Pianist James Blackburn, based in Portland, Oregon, has been performing for over 35 years in a variety of venues, from local clubs and private house parties, to concerts, festivals and corporate functions. James has performed and recorded as a solo pianist as well as with his musical partner for 30+ years, David Duthie (Blackburn & Duthie) and other Jazz ensembles such as - Everything's Jake, Dusty Rose, and the Jim Beatty Jazz band. James has dedicated man years honing his unique style and building his impressive repertoire of hundreds of songs from a variety of categories, such as Jazz, Pop, Standards from the Great American Songbook, Ragtime, and even some light Classical. He has composed original music for a documentary and was commissioned to compose and record songs for his collaboration with poet Emmett Wheatfall. His playing style is distinct, elegant, nuanced and unquestionably polished.
