Monday, March 5, 2018 - 7:00pm to Tuesday, March 6, 2018 - 8:45pm

On March 5th, the Music Mondays at the Lake Theater & Cafe will be debuting the first appearance of Illegal Smile: The Music of of John Prine.

The night will feature songs written by John Prine with a band consisting of some of Oregon's finest musicians and songwriters: Julie Amici, Dean Mueller, Mark Shark, Thad Beckman, and Carlton Jackson.

Julie Amici and Dean Mueller, a songwriting and performing partnership since 2014, has garnered a series of highly respected award nominations and recently represented the region in the 2018 International Blues Competition in Memphis.

With over forty years of guitar playing experience Mark Shark brings his unique talents to the Pacific Northwest. As a multi-instrumentalist, performer, composer, author and educator, he has had the good fortune to share the stage and studio with many of his own personal heroes during his career (Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Jesse Ed Davis, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Bob Dylan and John Trudell).

Thad Beckman, is a prolific songwriter he has written and produced seven solo albums. His latest CD, Streets of Disaster, received critical acclaim from Jerry Garcia biographer and Acoustic Guitar Magazine music reviewer Blair Jackson: “Beckman has released a knockout of an album with lots of stylistic variety. This is powerful stuff, beautifully performed and exquisitely produced. Quite a find!” and Tom Russell: “one of America’s best guitar players and a damn good songwriter.“

And on drums is Oregon Music Hall of Fame inductee Carlton Jackson, a master of just about any style of percussion and guiding light for the radio program "The Message" on KMHD.

The Music Monday series features top jazz, blues and roots artists from throughout the region. Originally built in 1940, the recently restored Lakeside Theater and Café is a state-of-the art concert facility, with a beautiful lakeside view and a full-service bar and restaurant. This is an All-Ages show, tickets are $15 GA available at http://laketheatercafe.com/, doors open at 6:00, show starts at 7:00.
