The Jazz Station is proud to present internationally acclaimed vocalist Halie Loren with a great group of musicians for a two-concert evening. Halie Loren is an international, award-winning jazz singer/songwriter. She brings a fresh and original perspective to time-honored musical paths, singing in several languages and channeling her innate understanding of connectedness across musical boundaries to forge bonds with diverse audiences in North America, Asia, and Europe. Loren has released ten albums to-date, both independently and on Japan's JVC Kenwood and Canadian-based Justin Time Records labels, which have received several national and international awards and honors along with chart successes, including numerous #1 placements on the Billboard/Japan Jazz Charts, iTunes (Canada and Japan) and Amazon Music charts. Along with recording success, Loren’s live performances have included multiple and varied venues around the world, including shows at Lincoln Center (NYC), SF Jazz (San Francisco), The Hult Center (with the Eugene Symphony for NYE), The Wallis (Beverly Hills), and Brevard Music (North Carolina) since December. Her past tours have taken her through Canada, Japan, Italy, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Haiti, Egypt, the United Kingdom, France, and beyond. In 2024, Loren will release a new album and is planning subsequent tours in support of it throughout the 2024/2025 season. Pianist Matt Treder's production and playing credits include three Billboard Japan #1 jazz albums with Halie Loren. He has played with Satin Love Orchestra, the BrewKats, the Inspirational Sounds, the Deb Cleveland Band, and the University of Oregon Jazz Ensemble and UO Gospel Choir. His orchestral arrangements have been premiered around the country including most recently by the Eugene Symphony. He is on faculty at The Shedd Institute for the Arts. Bassist Tom Buckman has enjoyed a variety of musical journeys in his 55+ years of professional bass playing. From local and regional events in California to nationwide touring with Cecilio and Kapono, Chris Hillman, and in support of Gino Vannelli on Dick Clark's Friday Night TV show.  Tom plays an electric upright bass and Fender bass guitar and is currently part of The BrewKats. Since relocating to Portland Oregon in 2000 drummer Charlie Doggett has performed regionally as well as throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia, and has been a contributing member of the Portland music scene for over two decades. He is a longstanding performing and recording member of David Friesen's “Circle 3 Trio”, Tim Willcox's “Superjazzers”, and “Upper Left Trio”. He has had the privilege of performing and/or recording with artists including Dave Frishberg, David Friesen, Obo Addy, Nancy King, Esperanza Spalding, Ethan Iverson, Joe Manis, George Colligan, Randy Porter, Titos Sompa, Caroline Davis, Jon Irabagon, Halie Loren and many others. Charlie Doggett maintains an active teaching schedule as adjunct faculty instructor at Lewis & Clark College, and Clackamas Community College.
