Mark Fendel performs at Classic Piano
George Fendel Presents will feature Marc Fendel, alto saxophone, and Eric Verlinde, piano. They are both accomplished and highly regarded Seattle musicians. And yes, Marc is George's son and my nephew.
Marc Fendel attended Berklee College of Music in Boston in the 1990's and earned two degrees there. He studied with the late and great Joe Viola, master of the saxophone and all woodwinds; and George Garzone, the legendary saxophonist, educator, and improv genius. He is a Conn/Selmer and Selmer Paris representative. His teaching website, Music Education For All, has garnered over 2,000,000 views, has over 12,000 subscribers, and provides more than 700 free lessons! He taught saxophone for many years at Seattle Drum School, including opening and managing its Georgetown campus. He has played with many fine musicians, like Reggie Watts, Diana Krall, Clark Terry, Billy Higgins, Tony Pacini, Bernie Worrell, John Wicks, Kevin Nortness, Julian Snow, Eric Eagle, and many more.
Eric Verlinde, a brilliant pianist, says that his music is all about love and life, and once you hear him, you will have proof of that! He has accompanied many fine vocalists and played with many excellent jazz musicians, among them Hans Teuber, John Stowell, Thomas Marriott, Chris Symer, D'Vonne Lewis, Christine Hannan, Elnah Jordan, Chava Mirel, Josephine Howell, LaVon Hardison, Jeff Busch, John Bishop, Osama Afili, Jamael Anthony Nance, Michael Glynn, Stanley Ruvinov, and Paul Gabrielson, to name a few! He is comfortable with many genres---bebop, Latin and Brazilian sounds, ballads, and more.
