Emily Braden Group performs at the Jack London

Emily Braden is the winner of New York City's 'Best of the Best' Jazzmobile Vocal Competition and two-time cultural ambassador with the US Embassy’s Arts Envoy Program. Originally from Boise, Idaho, Braden is a Harlem-based vocalist, songwriter and lyricist who effortlessly blends jazz, soul and pop to win the hearts of audiences around the world. NYC performances include Birdland Jazz Club, Blue Note Jazz Club (Groove Series), The Jazz Club at Aman with residencies at the The 55 Bar and Minton’s Playhouse. Her sophomore album Cannon & Sparrow is a celebration of resilience. It was released March 2023 and is avaialable on all platforms.

Known for his “high skill and sensitivity,” (NYTimes) Chris McCarthy is one of the most in demand pianists in New York City. McCarthy has developed a reputation as “one of the most imaginative and impressive voices on the New York jazz scene” (Hot House Jazz Magazine). Early accolades included the 2012 Gerald Wilson Award for big band composition at the Monterey Jazz Festival. He released his debut for Ropeadope Records Still Time To Quit in 2020. The album received widespread critical praise! McCarthy is known for his sensitive accompanying of vocalists, working with many of New York’s finest.
