Catarina New Trio plays a free concert at the AC Hotel Downtown

Saxophonist Catarina New started her music career in her native country Sweden.
After a degree in music education and a few years of teaching and performing in Sweden and Scandinavia, she landed in New York for 2 years of Jazz studies at New School of Jazz.

In the late nineties she made LA and Palm Springs, California her home, where she performed professionally for 15 years. Her stage has been both locally and touring, performing music that range from Smooth, R&B, Jazz, Latin to Big Band.

Catarina’s “Brazilian Touch” project has been active for 20 years and with musicians from both California and Oregon, she has released 3 albums with mostly originals.
