Portlander, trumpeter, and graduate of the Berklee College of Music (1984), Bryant Allard believes that there’s still a place in this world for lyrical, swinging, sensible, straight ahead jazz. Bryant balances his time between educator and director of the M.U.S.E. Instrumental programs for young musician’s (based here in Portland and in the bay area), and as a performer, writer, and arranger. Bryant can be seen around town playing in many different configurations from his trio, to his quartet, his newest 2023 sextet, his latin jazz group Picante, and under the direction of Nick Gefroh in the 12 piece salsa band Palante. Bryant shares his love and experience playing jazz and salsa music in every one of his performances. He has performed with bay area jazz/latin pianist Mark Levine, Cuban pianist extraordinaire Carlos Federico, drummer Ron Steen, bassists Phil Baker, Ed Bennett, Dan Presley, Al Criado, pianists Greg Goebel, George Mitchell, Clay Giberson, and many more.
