Alex Kivett is a saxophonist and educator from Salem, Oregon who is currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Music Education at the University of Oregon. Growing up in a family of music educators, Alex demonstrated his interest in music at a young age by exploring various instruments, eventually settling on the saxophone. His musical inspirations include a diversity of genres encompassing rock, R&B, funk, Western European classical, and especially jazz. These influences remind him to respect the traditions of the past, while striving to develop new music. Alex currently works as a private instructor in the area and is excited to begin performing more regularly throughout the Willamette Valley.
