The 1905, Portland’s dedicated home for live jazz, is proud to announce the 1st Annual 1905 Jazz Festival, taking place October 22–26, 2025. This inaugural five-day event will showcase both internationally acclaimed artists and local rising stars, solidifying The 1905 as a premier destination for world-class jazz.
Headlining the festival on October 25 are legendary jazz vocalist Vanessa Rubin and powerhouse drummer Willie Jones III, bringing their celebrated artistry to the Portland stage. Other festival highlights include hometown favorite Chris Brown Quartet featuring saxophonist John Nastos, pianist/composer Kerry Politzer previewing music from her upcoming Whirlwind Recordings release Alternate Route, and a spotlight on emerging talent such as Zyanna, Jack Radsliff, and Davasate Phelps.
“I’m so excited to host our first multi-day jazz festival; it really puts The 1905 on the map,” said Program Director Holly Resnick. “"When George Colligan comes to us with the idea, we just said "YES" because anything George does is usually a home run!"
Artistic Director George Colligan Echoed that sentiment, adding, “I am thrilled to be a part of a new jazz festival at such a great venue.”
Located in the heart of Portland, The 1905 has earned a reputation as one of the city’s cultural cornerstones, combining an intimate setting with exceptional live performances. With the launch of its first jazz festival, The 1905 expands its commitment to celebrating jazz at every level—from global headliners to the next generation of innovators.
