Ross Garlow is one of Portland’s young bass players of note, working with the artists such as Christopher Brown, Brent Follis, George Colligan, Charlie Porter, and many more of the great staples in the Portland Jazz and music community. “Big Water” is a series of music, inspired by Ross’s favorite rivers that he spends his free time on rafting and flyfishing. This is music for nature lovers and appreciators in order to help advocate for the importance and well being of our river systems, fish migration, and general environmentalism. Ross has selected an all-star cast of some of Portland’s finest young musicians to help him perform this music. Ross is originally from Philadelphia, earning his degrees in music from Temple University and Rutgers University. After a four year career as a music director on cruise ships, Ross has made the PNW his home since 2018.
