Juneteenth Emancipation Jazz Concert is at the 1905

This concert is a jazz emancipation experience to honor Juneteenth and proclaim our collective freedom. It will include music of Esperanza Spalding, Wayne Shorter, Jazzmeia Horn and original songs and spoken word pieces by Nicholas Grier and Marcus Lattimore. The evening will be a soulful night of community healing and freedom that draws from the heritage of African American spirituals, jazz, neo soul and spoken word poetry. From an African perspective, music is a life force that nurtures healing and well-being. This concert utilizes music as a life force to nurture communal healing and social good. Nicholas Grier, PhD, is a pianist, mental health therapist, professor, and community advocate who uses music as a tool to nurture communal healing and well-being in society. Grier is author of the book: Care for the Mental & Spiritual Health of Black Men: Hope to Keep Going He is also founder of Coloring Mental Health Collective, LLC.
