LeAnna Simmons presents Women In Jazz at the 1905

Two Shows - 6:30p and 8:30p

Born and raised in the rural town of Dover, PA, LeAnna Simmons has had a lifelong love for singing and music of all styles. It wasn't until high school that she was exposed to and fell in love with the jazz genre. Though she has experience singing a range of styles, such as R&B, acoustic, classical, chamber music, and soul, she is heavily influenced by jazz greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Anita O'Day, Chet Baker, and Julie London. Though she studies nursing at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, she has had the time to study with the talented jazz vocalist Joanna Pascale and participate in her vocal ensemble. Despite her busy schedule and heavy course load, she stays involved with the Philadelphia and Central Pennsylvania music scene, performing at open mics and jam sessions.
