The 15th Annual Billie Holiday Tribute Night.

This year’s Billie Holiday Tribute night is being curated and emceed by Marcia Hocker.

This event brings together musicians of many genres to pay tribute to one of the greatest jazz singers and songwriters of our time. Billie Holiday, also known as “Lady Day,” was an American jazz singer and songwriter. Holiday was a hugely formative influence on jazz and pop singing. Her vocal style, strongly inspired by jazz instrumentalists, pioneered a new way of manipulating phrasing and tempo. Above all, she was admired all over the world for her deeply personal and intimate approach to singing.

The Billie Holiday Tribute Night is a fundraiser show that will help support the free online series Siren Nation Speaks, as well as other free events. Siren Nation promotes and showcases the original work of women artists by creating year-round performance, exhibition, and educational opportunities.

A portion of each ticket sale will also be donated to Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center and Rosemary Anderson High School, which provide services in education, mentoring, family outreach, employment training, and placement. https://www.portlandoic.org/
