In honor of Women's History Month, Kerry Politzer's Bossa PDX pays tribute to the renowned, Rio-born guitarist, vocalist, and composer: Joyce Moreno. Kerry Politzer has released eight albums as a leader. She is greatly influenced by Brazilian music, which she discovered when Hermeto Pascoal did a residency at her alma mater, the New England Conversatory of Music. Kerry has performed around the US and Canada at venues including Smalls, Mezzrow, the Gene Harris Jazz Festival, the Black Dolphin, Mr. Tipples, Frankie's Jazz Cafe, and others. She teaches jazz piano at Portland State University and gives clinics on improvisation and composition at universities around the country.

In addition to keeping a finger on the pulse of the local scene, The 1905 has hosted internationally recognized musicians such as 5 time Grammy award-winner Antonio Sanchez, and Jazz greats like Ralph Peterson Jr.
