Christopher Brown is an acclaimed musician, composer, bandleader, and educator who seeks to be a voice within the advocacy of Jazz and American culture. And with his experiences having led him towards a deep interest in synthesizing the principles of Jazz with the day-to-day practicalities of life, is why he holds the philosophy that “we’re all in the same business…the people-trusting-people business. No people, no business.” Therefore, he believes we should all prioritize personal growth as much as we value professional growth.

As for the expansive range of groups that he has assembled and/or performed with, they include such notable artists as Branford Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, John Patitucci, Jimmy Heath, Gary Bartz, Benny Golson, Paquito D'Rivera, David Sanborn, Geoff Keezer, Ralph Peterson Jr., Bobby Watson, Antonio Hart, Vincent Herring, George Colligan, Chuck Israels, David Liebman, Steve Turre, Cyrus Chestnut, Conrad Herwig, Randy Brecker, Kamasi Washington, Sean Jones, Marquis Hill, Chad LB, Aaron Goldberg, Ben Williams, Benny Benack III, Lonnie Plaxico, Mel Brown, Esperanza Spalding, and Beyonce.

Christopher is currently the drum instructor within Portland State University's Jazz program, as well as he co-instructs a course in PSU's MBA program entitled "Business Innovation through Jazz Improvisation." He also serves as the director of the Metropolitan Youth Symphony's Jazz program, in addition to serving on the board of Portland's Habitat for Humanity, as well as the board of "TASTE: United for Equity."
